His most recent film, Deceived (2002), a 21st century supernatural thriller starring 'Judd Nelson' (qv) and Academy Award® winner 'Louis Gossett Jr.' (qv), won for “Film/Video of the Year” from Christian Beats, while the film's musical score was nominated for “Best Musical Score” at the DVD Premiere Awards. His wildly popular breakout film, Revelation (1999), starring 'Jeff Fahey' (qv), 'Nick Mancuso' (qv), and supermodel 'Carol Alt' (qv), has been on best-seller lists for over two years and has led the way in revolutionizing the faith-based film genre. Following that success, van Heerden helmed the next popular installment, Tribulation (2000), starring 'Gary Busey' (qv), 'Margot Kidder' (qv), and comedian 'Howie Mandel' (qv). Apocalypse IV: Judgement (2001), a courtroom thriller starring L.A Law's 'Corbin Bernsen' (qv), the A Team's 'Mr. T' (qv), and Armageddon's (1998) 'Jessica Steen (I)' (qv), was both written and directed by van Heerden. Judgment made waves in the film world when, in March 2001, it reached #7 on the "Billboard Sales Charts" right behind the Oscar®-winning film "Gladiator". In addition to directing, van Heerden plays significant roles in Cloud Ten Pictures' other feature films. He co-produced the number-one-selling video Left Behind (2000) (V), starring 'Kirk Cameron' (qv), 'Clarence Gilyard' (qv), and 'Brad Johnson' (qv), and teamed up with the Left Behind II: Tribulation Force (2002) crew as production supervisor. An experienced screenwriter and post-production supervisor in both film and television, van Heerden has written, produced, and directed more than half a dozen documentaries including such stand-out projects as Vanished (1998) and "Startling Proofs" (1995). He showed his aptitude for directing early on—a long-held dream of his. He graduated from Carleton University's prestigious school of journalism with a combined High Honors Degree in English and Journalism. The greatest testament to his talents came when the National Film Board of Canada purchased his film thesis, "It's Not Just Pac-Man". Van Heerden shares a happy home in the Greater Toronto Area with his wife Carolyn and young daughters Ava and Elise.

Tom Canboro is a police detective with a Christian sister, Eileen, a brother, Calvin, a wife, Susan, and eccentric brother-in-law, Jason. One night, Jason seemingly goes insane and tries to kill Eileen, calling her a “hater”. Tom soon realises this may be a conspiracy going as far as devil worship, but as he speeds in his car to get help, he suddenly looses control and crashes. Waking up in a strange hospital, he finds years have passed and people all over the world are wearing the mark of 666 on their right hands, and all those who don’t are being killed off. Franco Macalusso, the believer in world peace Jason was fond of, now controls the world, and is trying to bring the world together as it was at the tower of Babel. Meanwhile, the “Haters” or Christians are hiding out and airing TBN tapes on the air for people to realise the Messiah is really the Antichrist, but their leader, Helen Hannah, is arrested…
