A big lie told in fun has deadly consequences in this horror story. A group of students at an exclusive private school decide to have some fun by creating an urban legend and seeing how far it will spread. When a woman is murdered not far from the school’s campus, the students create an elaborate mythology about a serial killer known as “the Wolf,” whose motives and methods would make him a likely culprit for the recent crime. However, when other people begin dying at the hands of “the Wolf,” the students are forced to admit to their lie in hopes of stopping the killings. But will anyone believe them? And how does the real-life killer know so much about the backstory of “the Wolf”? Cry_Wolf stars Julian Morris, Lindy Booth, Jon Bon Jovi, and Gary Cole.

The “National Lampoon” franchise is resurrected for another politically incorrect collegiate romp with this R-rated gross-out sex comedy. National Lampoon’s Van Wilder revolves around the exploits of its title character (Ryan Reynolds), a seventh-year senior who’s made it his goal in life to help each and every Coolidge College undergrad succeed in life — or at least in bed. Van’s charmed life seems to have an expiration date, however; his father (Tim Matheson) has cut off his presumably vast allowance. Financial insecurity doesn’t phase the big man on campus, and he soon starts up a lucrative cottage industry as a planner of high-priced campus blowouts. When an enterprising reporter from the college paper gets wind of Van’s liberal interpretation of the school’s code of conduct, it seems his gig is up — unless, of course, he can charm the hard-edged Gwen (Tara Reid) into accepting his uniquely skewed world view. In addition to Matheson, Van Wilder features cameos from a number of ’80s teen movie stalwarts, including Edie McClurg, Paul Gleason, and Erik

Filmmaker Terry Zwigoff and comic artist and screenwriter Daniel Clowes, who collaborated for the acclaimed 2001 comedy-drama Ghost World, team up once again for this offbeat satire. Jerome (Max Minghella) is an aspiring artist who arrives at a prestigious East Coast art institute to study. While Jerome enjoys daydreams of becoming the best-respected painter on Earth and winning the hearts of his female classmates, he soon learns the sad truth — his “cool artist” act is old hat in the big city, and as he’s surrounded by every art school clich? on Earth, practically nothing about him stands out. Determined to be recognized whatever the consequences, Jerome maps out a bizarre plan to become famous that has some unexpected consequences. Loosely adapted from a story in Clowes’ comic book Eightball, Art School Confidential also stars John Malkovich, Jim Broadbent, Anjelica Huston, and Sophia Myles.

The horny teen heroes of American Pie (1999) return for further raunchy antics in this comedy sequel written by the first film’s creator, Adam Herz. Returning home following their freshman year of college, old friends Jim (Jason Biggs), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), Oz (Chris Klein), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), and Stifler (Seann William Scott) rent a summer house on Lake Michigan where they hope to score romantically. However, complications ensue due to Jim’s relative lack of experience, requiring an interlude with a fellow student and a visit to his old friend Michelle (Alyson Hanigan), who’s now a band camp counselor, all in preparation for the return of Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth). In the meantime, Oz is separated from Heather (Mena Suvari) by a trip abroad, Finch has another encounter with Stifler’s mom (Jennifer Coolidge), and Jim’s dad (Eugene Levy) is as clueless as ever about his son’s love life. Director J.B. Rogers served as first assistant director on the first film and made his directorial debut with Say It Isn’t So (2001).
